In the area of settlement structure, 142 of the 286 projects and a total subsidy of more than € 12.80 million have so far been selected by the decision-making body. This includes projects for the conversion, reuse and renovation of vacant existing buildings for private residential purposes (48) as well as the demolition or dismantling of structures and the unsealing of areas (23). These two measures have so far been in great demand, primarily from private individuals, such as young families.
In addition, the renovation, reuse and conversion of vacant or in use building stock for socio-cultural facilities and facilities is anchored as a measure in the area of settlement structure. Accordingly, the conditions of use of various existing village community and youth centers, club facilities and sacred buildings could be improved or these could be created as new facilities (37). A large number of publicly accessible rest areas, sports and playgrounds as well as open spaces and green areas have already been built or redesigned with LEADER funding (34). In this case, it is primarily the city and municipal administrations of the municipalities in the LEADER region which, as the developer, submitted the funding application.
