33 projects with a total subsidy of more than € 1.74 million come from the local economy field of activity, which have so far been selected by the decision-making body. These are, on the one hand, projects for the conversion / reuse of existing buildings for the settlement or expansion of company and service locations (9) and, on the other hand, investments in equipment for the expansion of companies (24). Both one-man businesses and small and medium-sized local companies from various branches of industry have so far been able to strengthen their competitiveness and improve their working conditions through LEADER-funded projects. This enabled existing jobs to be preserved and, in some cases, even new employment opportunities created.

Measure LW1: Conversion & re-use of buildings for commercial use

The objective of action in the "Local Economy" field of activity is to secure development opportunities for companies and diversify agricultural holdings. In order to achieve this goal, projects must be implemented in the region to provide spatial foundations and adequate work equipment. In order to create the spatial prerequisites, the preservation of the building culture significant substance will be in the foreground.

In order to support producers and restaurateurs in the LEADER region Leipziger Muldenland, as well as their customers, the LEADER regional management offers a nationwide successful, modern and also free marketing tool: the RegioApp. This is an application for smartphones and tablets that enables a quick and extensive search for regional products and restaurants. Thanks to the RegioApp, locals and tourists have the opportunity to find out about what manufacturers and sales outlets of regional products and restaurateurs in the LEADER region of Leipzig Muldenland have to offer.
